The following page will help you to understand more about the treatment you have been prescribed, what it is used for and how Beyonttra works. You will learn how to take your medicine, along with some important tips when taking Beyonttra.

WHAT IS BEYONTTRA USED FOR & HOW DOES IT WORK?

Beyonttra (also known as acoramidis) is used to treat adults with TTR cardiac amyloidosis. Beyonttra is a “TTR stabiliser” – it helps keep the TTR protein more stable and helps it hold its natural shape, so that it is less likely to break down and form the clumps that can build up in the heart and affect how well the heart works. This way Beyonttra works to help:

  • Slow down heart damage
  • Maintain your physical capacity
  • Protect your current quality of life

Remember, everyone responds differently to medicines. Your healthcare professional at your amyloidosis centre will be able to provide you with more information on what to expect from your treatment.

Do not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten dose. Just take your next dose (two tablets) at the usual time.

Report to your doctor straight away.

Contact your amyloidosis centre as soon as possible. They can arrange for replacement medicine to be sent to your home. Please note, homecare delivery services do not run at the weekend, and you must be available to accept the delivery.

Let the amyloidosis centre know about other medications you are currently taking, including any vitamins, health supplements or herbal products in case of potential interactions between all of your medicines.

Bring Beyonttra with you to the hospital or have a loved one get it for you, as it is difficult to deliver Beyonttra to a local hospital.
